NOTICE OF ELECTIONS: Pursuant to Code Section
2-12-111A of the Tennessee Election Laws, the Grainger County Election
Commission announces that a State Republican and Democrat Primary
will be held in Grainger County along with the General Election on
August 5, 2010 for the following offices:
Primary Offices
- Governor, U.S. House of Representatives - 3rd District, TN House of
Representative -35th District, State Executive Committeeman & State
Executive Committeewoman - 4th Senatorial District (One man and one
woman to be elected from the district).
General Offices
are: School Board Members from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th
districts. Two to be elected from from each district.
School Board Members must run as an Independent. Of course, all offices
that participated in the May Primary Election will be included on the
General ballot.
Qualifying
Deadline: Qualifying deadline for State Primaries and
County School Board Members is April 1, 2010 at 12:00 noon.
The Election Commission office will be open on Saturday, March 27th
from 8:30 to 12:00. This is the Saturday before the qualifying
deadline of April 1st.

WRITE-IN
CANDIDATE
Pursuant to Code Section
2-8-113C of the Tennessee Election Laws, any person attempting to
receive a party nomination by write-in ballots shall complete a notice
requesting such person's name be counted in the county of the
district no later that 50 days before the election, which is March 15, 2010
at 12:00 noon. Such
person shall have only votes counted where such notice was completed
and timely filed. This form will be provided by the Election
Commission.
